In the wide field of tension between transparency and closedness, outside and inside, the wooden sculptures of Joseph Stephan Wurmer reveal a quiet contemplative power paired with differentiatedly set impulses of movement. Idea and material as an essential as well as precisely calculated unity form the basis for spatial axes, structures and related perspectives inherent in the works.
In dialogue with geometrically archaic principles of order, the work opens up axes of vision and spaces of thought that connect in a universal way with the cycle of nature. Constructive and organic growth, movement and light join to form a comprehensive unity.
